Minor Programme

Minor Programme


The minor package offered by the School of Communication are meant for students outside the Bachelor of Communication Degree Programme.

Two minor sequences are offered, namely:

  • Communication Studies
  • Science and Environmental Journalism (For student with science background)

Students need to accumulate a total of 16 units of minor courses in any one of the selected sequence.

  • YBP 224/3 Public Relations
  • YFP 321/3 Television Studies
  • YFP 324/3 Cinema Studies

  • YKT 102/3 Introduction to Mass Communication

Core Courses (10 units)

  • YWP 221/3 Journalism I (compulsory)
  • YWP325/3 Science Writing & Reporting (compulsory)
  • YKT 112/4 Communication for Social Development or YKT 214/4 Communication Technology

Elective Courses (3 units)

  • YWP 223/3 Feature Writing
  • YWP 324/3 Seminar on Media, Science and Environment
